The Conference

Three days of films, panels, workshops, performances & more!
Coming September  2020
The Brooklyn Film, Arts & Media Conference was uniquely created and designed for filmmakers and artists by filmmakers and artists.

The Brooklyn FAM Conference was designed specifically to be a conduit for filmmakers, creative artists, visual artists, fashion designers, musical artists, etc...

In keeping with Brooklyn's robust contribution to the worlds of film, arts & media and it's evolution.   The Brooklyn FAM Conference is organizing and galvanizing the film, arts & media communities to give them a home to express themselves, network and showcase their greatness so that we can shape and mold the future of these specific genres.

In partnership with Moving Mountains Theater Co., and held at the world famous Billie Holiday Theater at Restoration Plaza's in Bedford Stuyvesant, this conference is exactly what BedSty, and all of Brooklyn and its arts community has been missing.

Jamie Hector studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York and attributes a defining moment in his career to the film “five deep breaths”. Jamie has since gone from playing one of television’s most ruthless gangsters to playing one of LAPD's finest detectives!  Jamie gained respect as the ultimate “bad Guy” on HBO's critically acclaimed series, THE WIRE, as Marlo Stanfield.  Jamie next joined, NBC primetime show HEROES as Benjamin Knox Washington.  Jamie took time to tour US Military bases in Europe with the Theater Of War performing the Greek Tragedy AJAX.   On stage he tackled Shakespeare as OTHELLO, and co-starred in the off-Broadway play LOWER NINTH.  Jamie is now considered one of the hardest working actors on the scene today.  You can find him on the new WuTang series American Saga, Queen Of The South, The Strain, Power, and Person Of Interest to name a few.  However, he’s winning audiences worldwide on Amazon’s longest running series BOSCH in his role Jerry Edgar, an LA homicide detective and partner to Harry Bosch played by Titus Welliver.

Jamie founded Moving Mountains Inc., a 501c3 that gives talented inner-city youth, a place to hone their craft and perform on a professional level.  For information on his organization go to www.movingmountainsnyc.org
